সংবাদ ডেস্কঃ নন্দিত কথাসাহিত্যিক হুমায়ূন আহমেদের আজ ৬৯তম জন্মদিন। এ উপলক্ষে টিভিতে প্রচারিত হবে বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানমালা। শাহবাগের কেন্দ্রীয় পাবলিক লাইব্রেরি চত্বরে শুরু হচ্ছে ‘হুমায়ূন আহমেদের একক বইমেলা’। উদ্বোধন করবেন কথাসাহিত্যিক সেলিনা হোসেন, হুমায়ূন আহমেদের স্ত্রী মেহের আফরোজ শাওন ও ভাই আহসান হাবীব।
গাজীপুরের নূহাশ পল্লীতে লেখকের জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে নানা কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে রাত ১২টা ১ মিনিটে কেক কাটা, পুরো নূহাশ পল্লীকে আলোকসজ্জায় সজ্জিতকরণ ও মরহুমের কবরে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ। সকালে হুমায়ূন আহমেদের স্ত্রী মেহের আফরোজ শাওন তার ছেলে নিষাদ ও নিনিতকে নিয়ে নূহাশ পল্লীতে মরহুমের কবর জিয়ারত, দোয়া মাহফিলসহ বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেবেন।
এদিকে চ্যানেল আই ‘হুমায়ূন মেলা’র আয়োজন করেছে। আজ বিকাল ৩টা ৫ মিনিটে চ্যানেল আই চত্বরে দেশের বিশিষ্টজনেরা এ মেলার উদ্বোধন করবেন। হুমায়ূনের ভক্তদের সংগঠন হিমু পরিবহনের উদ্যোগে গাজীপুরে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। সকালে ক্যান্সার সচেতনতামূলক ৩০ জনের একটি সাইকেল র্যালি জেলা শহর থেকে নূহাশ পল্লীতে যাবে। সংগঠনের ১৫ সদস্যের অপর একটি দল ঢাকা থেকে খালি পায়ে হেঁটে নূহাশ পল্লীতে যাবে। বিকালে গাজীপুর জেলা পরিষদ মিলনায়তনে আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
১৯৪৮ সালের আজকের এই দিনে নেত্রকোনা জেলার কেন্দুয়া উপজেলার কুতুবপুরে হুমায়ূন আহমেদ জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। পড়ালেখা শেষে তিনি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে রসায়ন বিভাগের অধ্যাপক হিসেবে যোগদান করেন। নব্বই দশকের মাঝামাঝি স্বেচ্ছায় চাকরি থেকে অবসর গ্রহণ করে লেখালেখিতে পুরোপুরি মনোযোগ দেন। উপন্যাস, নাটক, শিশুসাহিত্য, বৈজ্ঞানিক কল্পকাহিনি, চলচ্চিত্র পরিচালনা থেকে শিল্প-সাহিত্যের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রেই তিনি রেখে গেছেন নিজের প্রতিভার স্বাক্ষর। বাংলা সাহিত্যে অসামান্য অবদানের স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ তিনি ১৯৯৪ সালে বাংলাদেশের সর্বোচ্চ রাষ্ট্রীয় পদক ‘একুশে পদক’ লাভ করেন।
হুমায়ূন আহমেদের শরীরে ২০১১ সালের সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে মরণব্যাধি ক্যান্সার ধরা পড়ে। উন্নত চিকিত্সার জন্য তিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের নিউইয়র্কে যান। সেখানে ২০১২ সালের ১৯ জুলাই তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। তাঁকে সমাহিত করা হয়েছে তাঁরই গড়ে তোলা নন্দনকানন নূহাশ পল্লীর লিচুতলায়।
